Bourbon Club . . . . . May & June '24

The official home of Bolivar's Bourbon Society  -- a spirited society dedicated to the appreciation of good bourbons and whiskeys. Hosting monthly meetings dedicated towards the bourbon enthusiast, where the novice learns the ropes from seasoned sippers.  Our goal is to expand preferences, share stories and history, and contribute to experiences that club members can share with others.

Meeting's are the Third Thursday of the month from 6:30PM - 8:00PM

It's a world where the adjective 'neat' takes on entirely new meaning, and ice becomes a source of philosophical debate.

• A themed session of five specially-selected bottles
• Learn the difference between bourbon and other types of whiskey
• Learn bourbon/whiskey terminology and how these spirits are produced.
• Information about the various distilleries we're exploring, or various fun facts relating to whiskey
• In these gatherings, members are not just passive sippers; they become flavor detectives, unraveling the mysteries behind each amber pour.
• The camaraderie that develops is as enticing as the spirits themselves. Members share knowing nods as they understand the language of bourbon, from the strength of a full-bodied taste to the soft whisper of a smooth finish.

May 16, 2024 Theme:  Taste and Terroir of the West

• From Seattle to Colorado to the Bay Area, a new wave of whiskey distilleries is bringing cultural terroir to your glass.  There’s perhaps no spirit more synonymous with the Western frontier than whiskey, and over the past decade, a new wave of distilleries has emerged here, bringing both facets to the glass in ways more varied than ever.

March 21, 2024 Theme:  It's All About the Rye

• Rye, the Bad Boy of grains.  It's Big, Bold, and Spicy - delivering a slight and fascinating burn.  A lot like spicy curry with hints of sweet.
