When we were putting this Valentine’s menu together, we kept coming back to the same idea — take the things we already love and treat them with care. Nothing here is trying to impress.
It’s just how we like to feed people we care about.

OUR STORY
Basil & Bourbon was never meant to be just a restaurant.
It grew out of an old building we fell in love with — two century-old storefronts once home to a men’s club, a hat shop, even the first Ben Franklin five-and-dime in the region. If you look up at the ceiling, those tin tiles have watched nearly a hundred years of Bolivar gather, shop, meet, and make a life here.
We’re simply the next caretakers.
What we do now is simple:
scratch-made comfort food, cocktails crafted by hand, and hospitality that feels personal. Food that warms you. A room that slows your shoulders down. A place that feels like it’s been waiting for you — whether you’re a local or just passing through.
We’re a small team, a family business, building something steady inside a building that’s stood steady for generations.
